Read Across America Week- part 2

As we are getting ready to celebrate Dr. Seuss I have created some math freebies. My students are really struggling with the concept of finding missing addends. So, hopefully these will help my students understand missing addends a bit better.

Read Across America Week- part 1

Dr. Seuss was born in Springfield, MA (same place my dad grew up). How cool is that? I love how his stories are still regarded as some of the best of children's literature even though they were written 50 plus years ago. The rhyming and the purposeful simple word choice make his books fun and help young readers feel successful. So thank you Dr. Seuss, my students and I love your books!
Check out my FREE Cat, Hat, Mat no prep rhyming worksheets by clicking the pictures above.

One of my class' favorite literacy centers will be making a return for the week.

Until next time,
Kerry

Welcome and Happy Valentine's Day

Welcome to my blog all about my Kindergarten class!  Today was our Valentine's Day celebration and boy was it a fun one!  Here are some of the highlights!

We read my favorite Valentine's Day book- The Day it Rained Hearts

We did a math addition activity to accompany the book.

We learned some new vocabulary words and took a quick comprehension assessment.

We sequenced events from the story too!.
